Protection of personal data

Last updated on 25/05/2018

As of May 25, 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) adopted in the European Union is starting to apply in Bulgaria. The regulation concerns the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and the free movement of such data and will prevent the misuse of such data.

You can find this regulation HERE.

The new Regulation significantly extends the concept of "personal data". In addition to three names, personal identification number, ID number, telephone number and address, the term already includes e-mail, IP address, location data, bank account, photos and any data that would allow identification of a specific individual.
Personal Data Processing is any action related to the collection, recording, organizing, storing, modifying, retrieving, using, distributing, updating, combining, blocking, deleting, and destruction and any other similar activity, which is the subject of personal data of one or more individuals.
Personal data administor is any person (natural / legal / public body / agency / other entity) that only determines the purposes (ie for what) and the means (ie how) the personal data collected by him / her are processed data of individuals. The administrator also determines the retention period, where the data will be processed and stored, personal data protection measures, and who will process it. With the entry into force of the Personal Data Protection Regulation, the obligation to register as a personal data controller with the Personal Data Protection Commission ("CPDP") ceases. Anyone who processes personal data even on an individual will be treated as an administrator, whether registered with the CPDP or not. This means that Lubtex Ltd. is an administrator of personal data.
